NHR 9300-1000 High-Voltage Battery Test System
NH Research's 9300-1100 High-Voltage Battery Test System is a quick, fully programmable, bi-directional DC source developed for high-performance testing. It permits charge and discharge testing for a range of energy storage devices, such as batteries, fuel cells, and ultra-capacitors, by functioning as both a regenerative DC load and source. This system supports automotive, aerospace, marine, heavy industrial, and grid storage applications, as well as research and development, production, and certification processes.
The NHR 9300-1100, with a 1100 kW rating, can supply up to 3663A at 600V and 1837A at 1200V. It is suitable for battery emulation, charger testing, and cycling since it permits consistent power, voltage, and current management. The discharge mode of the system runs from 30 to 600V at ±333A and 60 to 1200V at ±167A, whereas the charge mode operates from 0 to 600V at ±333A and 0 to 1200V at ±167A.
By synchronizing additional 100kW cabinets, which can be run independently or in tandem to satisfy high-power demands, the system's modular architecture grows output from 100kW to 2.4MW. Both lower voltage and higher voltage applications are supported by dual voltage ranges (600V and 1200V). Voltage, current, amp-hours, and watt-hours are continuously measured by the system, which provides accurate performance data at a digitizing rate of 1 MS/s.
Numerous safety measures, such as protections against overvoltage, overcurrent, overpower, and overtemperature, are incorporated by the NHR 9300-1100. Its safety profile is improved by trip limits, interlocks, emergency stop mechanisms, and an isolation system (1000VDC mains to chassis, 1500VDC mains to unit under test). In addition, the system has a watchdog timer to track control communications and self-testing capabilities.
The system interfaces with a number of software platforms, including LabVIEW, VeriStand, and NI's BTS, enabling control and automation. Without the need to write code, users may control and adapt charge/discharge profiles thanks to its big touch-panel interface, which displays real-time test status.
